
NATIVITY MALVERN
CELEBRATES 50 YEARS
The Anglican Church of Nativity, Malvern, celebrated its 50th anniversary on March 30th, 2025, with an evening of Praise, Worship, Thanksgiving and sumptuous food.
The evening’s celebration commenced with a Service officiated by The Rt. Rev’d. Andrew Asbil, the Anglican Diocesan Bishop of Toronto, and included performances by Joy Lapps on steel pan, drumming by John Odell, a solo rendition by Rose Worrell and anthem from the Nativity Church choir,
Attendees received a history of the Church’s existence, from its formation in 1974 by The Reverand Victor Reigel to its current officiant, The Reverend Amirold Lazard, outlining all the Reverends that officiated services for the Nativity congregation over its 50-year history.
The church also received congratulatory messages from the Prime Minister of Canada, Councilor Jamal Myers, the TTC Chair, and MPP Vijay Thanigasalam.
The church took this opportunity to recognize past Incumbents; Rev’d. Canon Donald Butler, Rev’d. Pam Prideaux, Rev’d. Vernon LaFleur as well as The Rt Reverend Andrew Asbil, presenting them each with a glass plaque. Also receiving recognition for their years of contribution and dedication to the church’s life and ministry, were 15 members of the Nativity congregation.
The evening concluded with a dinner reception.
